SUMMARY:  The staff physician reports to the CMO and the CEO.  He/she is responsible to the Board of Directors for the content of the Principles of Practice Agreement, including the following performance responsibilities.  The staff physician provides a program of high quality primary care, integrates service with specialty care and health related agencies and participates in the development of future health care objectives and services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Directly supervises mid-level providers, as well as indirectly supervises employees of the Medical Support Staff.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Degree as Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Current valid licensure by the State of Michigan Medical Practice Board, currently registered by State and Federal Boards of Pharmacy, and Board Certified or Eligible in Family Practice with a completed residency or equivalent years of practice experience. BLS Required at hire.
