TBCHS is looking for float pharmacy clerk to work at our pharmacies located in Fairview, Atlanta, Hillman, Onaway, & Rogers City.
Summary: Assists Pharmacist in pharmacy or retail establishment by performing the following clerical duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Job Knowledge, Communication, Interaction with Patients, Quality and Quantity of work Weight: 44%
- Computes charges, handles register and front counter window service.
- Waits on patients at pharmacy counter efficiently and quickly.
- Balances cash register drawer and prepares daily deposit.
- places orders with wholesaler to maintain proper stock levels.
- this does NOT include controlled substance Class II medications
- Receives and stores incoming supplies; check in and stock medication orders.
- controlled substances will be verified by the pharmacist
- confirms receipt of all items with invoices
- adds price stickers to all items received
- shelves items; rotating older stock
- removes outdated product from shelves per Pharmacy Procedure PH-100-C-2.
- performs sorting and filing of prescription records .
- Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
- Stocks prescription vials .
- Records courier prescriptions in TBCHS courier log daily.
- Maintains Patient Pickup Authorizations.

- Answers telephone; refers call to pharmacist or Certified Pharmacy Technician when appropriate.
- Refers patient and provider questions to pharmacist.
Adaptability, Teamwork, Communications and Interaction with Patients Weight: 27%
- Assists Pharmacist with clerical responsibilities (e.g. prepares receipts for private accounts such as the Jail, AIS home, etc).
- Multitask waiting on customers, answering phones, clerical duties, etc.
- Refers insurance questions to Certified Pharmacy Technicians to assess.
- Assist patients by scanning prescriptions to capture electronic signature upon pickup and collect copays.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and one year related experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current, valid State of Michigan driver’s license and automobile insurance. BLS Required within 90 days.
